Description

Florence Middle Ages and Renaissance

Middle Ages and Renaissance: two important historical periods, two golden ages for Florence, so different and strictly tied to each other. Walking through the city, we will discover how the monuments built in different eras coexist with elegance and harmony in a space planned by the ancients and enhanced by those who came after. Palazzo Vecchio, built in the Middle Ages, centre of the political power, is the perfect example of this harmonious fusion of two historical periods, during which the wealth of Florence was formed and then turn out to the world through the unparalleled artworks. We will wind through the district of Dante, residence of the medieval families, then crown our “immersion” with a visit to the Bargello Museum, the first public building in Florence, where we will admire the sculptures of Donatello, Michelangelo, Cellini and Giambologna.
